The Oldham Parkrun is a relative newcomer.  I had heard from my club mates that it was a bit of a beast so I though I'd give it a go.

The race HQ is a rather nice lion-themed, covered area in the park (see above picture).  The course feels a quite natural three lapper, with the final lap being a little longer and passing up and through a nice trail area.  So probably 90% is on good paths and 10% trail, with the
trail being very good under even after heavy rain (contrast South Manchester Parkrun which floods) .  The course is a difficult one, and more interesting for it, with climbs on each lap and a long, flat section past the lion-themed, covered area.  Add about 50 seconds to your Heaton Park time.

Marshalling was excellent, the course well marked and results out the same day thanks to Mark Kelly.  Very professional.  Mostly unaffiliated runners.
